Fannie Mae recently surveyed more than 100 housing experts about where they expect home prices to go over the next five years.
The average forecast: 📈 Home prices are expected to rise 14.7% through 2031.
Nobody knows exactly what home prices will do year to year, but if those projections are even close, think about what that means for someone buying today.
A $400,000 home appreciating 14.7% would be worth roughly $458,000 five years from now.
That's ~$58,000 in appreciation alone, before factoring in the equity you're also building by paying down your mortgage.
Real estate has always been a long-term play.
You don't need to perfectly time the market. You need to buy the right home, at a payment you can comfortably afford, and give yourself time to build equity.
Time in the market can matter a lot more than timing the market.
